Location Change for the 5th Annual Asian Heritage Festival to
Blank Park & Zoo Due to Flooding
Des Moines, Iowa (May 7, 2007)—Organizers of CelebrAsian say spring flooding won't dampen the spirit of the 5th Annual Asian Heritage Festival. They are announcing that this year's Festival, scheduled for Saturday, May 12, has been relocated to Blank Park Zoo (7401 SW 9th in Des Monies.) The relocation is due to predicted flooding to severe flooding at Des Moines Waterworks Park , the originally planned location.
"Having CelebrAsian at Blank Park Zoo is a great opportunity for our patrons," says Kim Poam Logan, Executive Director of the Iowa Asian Alliance, "Not only will they enjoy a powerful celebration o f Asian Culture as in the past, but as an added bonus, we worked with our sponsors and the Blank Park Zoo to provide free admission to the zoo for festival attendees on the day of the event. We look forward to seeing our fellow Iowans out in full force." she said.
This is good news for the more than 30,000 people expected to attend the largest Asian American event in Iowa which showcases various Asian Community Villages, cultural exhibits, history, food, performances artists, martial arts, children's activities and other family-friendly activities. Everyone is invited to experience the "growing sensation". CelebrAsian details are below. For more information visit: www.IowaAsianAlliance.com or www.celebrAsian.org; or call 515-273-5100.
