CelebrAsian: The Annual Asian Heritage Festival Celebrates its 5th Anniversary With More Activities Planned for Everyone
Des Moines, Iowa (March 23, 2007)—Each May the Iowa Asian Alliance unites the different Asian American communities in Iowa for a daylong celebrAsian known as the annual Asian Heritage Festival. Since its inception four years ago, CelebrAsian: The Annual Asian Heritage Festival has fast become one of the year's most anticipated events. CelebrAsian is the largest Asian American event in Iowa , showcasing cultural exhibits, history, food, performance artists, sports, martial arts, children's villages and rides, and other family-friendly activities. Be sure to join the celebrAsian this year and experience this growing sensation right here in Iowa.

- In honor of its 5th anniversary, organizers of the festival plan to commemorate the milestone with a fusion of the traditional culture and the contemporary Asian American lifestyle. Here's a partial list of things to look forward to:

- Local headlining bands include Gimmick and New Moon
- Headline performances by Lil' Jordan from California , IBU from Chicago , and Exit Clov from Washington , D.C.

"I'm so proud to be a part of this year's festival planning team, and to make this caliber of event possible in Iowa ," said Don Southammavong, chair of the Asian Heritage Festival's entertainment committee.
